my story
      by kristy

I was raised in a great Christian family. My parents were always active in church. I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of 13 at a church camp. I was a typical rebellious teenager and got into trouble all the time. I didn't grasp the full understanding that I needed to totally turn my life over to Christ. I went to a Christian college, Anderson College, but I was still rebellious even in college. I tried to take control of my life after college and nothing seemed to work out. Even though I wasn't a sincere Christian, I never stopped going to church. I knew that my parents were praying for me all the time. I was raised in church but I wasn't living a Godly life. Only by turning my life over to God during a Singles Sunday School class did things begin to work out. I met my husband in Indiana and we moved quickly to Alabama. It was hard leaving my family & job in Indiana to move to Alabama.

I'm so thankful for my marriage and family. I'm so glad that we both put God first in our lives. God has brought us through many trials in our marriage, careers and as parents. I think that putting God first in our lives is the only way to get thru the many challenges that we have faced. I don't understand how anyone can face the loss of jobs, death of loved ones, sicknesses without having God in their lives. God gives me strength to face things and I know that He is there for me. Sometimes when I think back to something that we have been thru, I know that the only way we handled it was that we completely depended on God.
